The shortlist for 2009's Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) was announced on 24 February 2009 - consisting of 186 exceptional photographers from 43 different countries. Vincent Foong, a Singaporean photographer, has been shortlisted under Natural History under the Amateur photographers' category.Finalists of each category will be announce on 17 March 2009 and will be honoured in the SWPA Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Cannes on 16 April 2009.
